Looks like we've been eating Frontier's food and haven't much comments about those =S

Tong Shui Cafe
(Liang Seah Street)

We ordered the Mango, Kiwi and Strawberry Tutti Frutti, which is basically 3 heart-shaped puddings served with fruits. I loved the mango one! The strawberry pudding was rather bad though; it tasted rather weird, and its texture was different from the other 2 puddings. Kinda wish the puddings were chilled better.. They were served semi-cold; makes you wonder how long they left the puddings outside the fridge. :/

The (Yin-Yang) Black Sesame and Almond hot dessert was quite good - not too sweet, and not too bitter (unlike the YumCha almond tea)! They serve it with a little biscuit/cracker which goes really well with the dessert. :)

ooooh. finally a post by sandra! :)

Lunch at Sun with Moon at Central followed by dessert at Azabu Sabo at Marina Square!

Oh I realised I forgot to take photos at Sun with Moon! Oh but anyway, 2 dessert pictures from Azabu Sabo!

Hokkaido Hot Balls with butter sauce and mochi! Nice! I love the mochi dumplings! Hot balls tasted like fried donuts with some sweet potato inside. Nice =D

My all-time favourite! Rum wine with sweet potato cake and soft ice cream! The rum is very strong and it really really rocks! My favourite dessert there!

Lunch at Shin Kushiya- the Japanese Charcoal Grill at Vivo city.

Some condiments, rather types of salt, to go with the grill.

Chawanmushi
Grilled onions, Gyu Enoki Maki, Aspara Maki, Ebi
Seafood Kushiya Set that has ebi, shishamo, some other fish which is very nice, salmon, scallop and unagi =D
Hotate Maki
Rabbit bowl! It was used to contain an appetiser but ah it's so cute =P

Nice place for lunch =D

Lunch at Stew Haus last week..after walking along siglap and discovering that there wasn't much of an option of eateries after all =S But anyway, it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless, to find out what's in store for us.

One of the main courses, the Viennese Sausage. Comes with mash potato, mustard and salad.

Pasta. The chef decides what pasta to cook at that point in time, so you won't know what's gonna be served til it's on the table =D

Affogata or something. Forget about the name, just remember it's some cappucino with chocolate ice cream inside. Quite a nice dessert =D

Apple with white wine. Quite a unique dish =D Apple slices with white wine soaked in some ice cream??

There was vege soup served at the beginning as well. It was very good =D Clear soup but very very tasty =D

Overall, the food was good and the service was just as good too. Price is very affordable and it's a nice place to catch up. The food has a very different taste from those served in other cafes or restaurant, yet it didn't taste awful at all. It's like unique food but yet very palatable. =D Interesting experience for the gut.

Anyway, there was one dish at Jumbo that left an impression. =D It's like a piece of scallop surrounded by the yam puff thing. (Somewhat resembling the yam with cashew dish served at restaurants, just that it's tiny pieces but with scallop in the middle instead.) Alright, I'm not describing it properly, but I know it's nice =P

And the standard of the chicken curry at Indonesian Riverside BBQ restaurant fluctuates. Sad. Today's lemon grass taste in it was a lil more subtle than other times, so it wasn't as good =S

Oh yah, cheesecake cafe at siglap is like...rarely open. Sad. Wanted to try some cakes there but it's closed on Mon and Tues. For other days, it's open from like 4.30 pm to 12am or something??!! AHhhhhh

Spotted at Great World City's Best outlet! Haha. Seems like our "Word of the Day"s really are getting popular! :)

Terra Blues
Made from naturally Blue Potatoes
Terra Blues, an extraordinary member of our Terra Chips line, is guaranteed to please your eye, as well as your palate. Made from naturally Blue Potatoes, these premium quality chips are a delectable treat. Vibrant bluish-purple in colour, with a slightly nutty flavour, they're simply unforgettable.

Happened to see this in the supermarket one day, and curiosity got the better of me.

Unlike what the packaging says, the chips -aren't- a treat to the eye. However, they taste really good - you can actually taste the potatoes in these chips! (Sort of like what a crunchy version of a baked potato might taste like..)

A cafe at Central @ Clarke Quay. It offers main courses and some desserts like cakes and cupcakes. Didn't check out their whole menu, well, actually I didn't check out their menu at all since it was closing. Went in for cheesecake and it was good, though I'm no fan of cheesecake. I like theirs though =D

A little corner behind the counter and quite hidden, like a mini private room. Nice furniture too, like those from a princess' room.

Another angle of the lil' corner. The place is much nicer than seen from the pictures though =P

And the cheesecake arrives! With cookies to accompany it. The lighting wasn't very suitable to produce a good photo of my cake =S But anyhow, it has a strawberry on it and blueberries and sauce at the tip of the slice. It cost $4.70 after all the charges and some discount which I'm not too aware of (probably some late-night discount), but the takeaway is only $3! The takeaway is extremely worth it, in my opinion.

Anyway, they sell Oreo cheesecake, big and small cupcakes with fancy icing as well. It's supposedly nice, but I didn't give them a try. Well, not after many many pieces of sushi from Meidi-ya (??!! Of all places for sushi! But it seriously beats many of those takeaway sushi from various supermarkets hands down! Especially when it's on discount from 8pm) =P

Tuesday 19 June 2007

Gurgles! Doesn't that sound like a particular day's 'Word of the day'?! And there we have it! A shop along the edge of the city's shopping belt.

Arnott's Tiny Teddy Dippers - Milky white choc with chocolate tiny teddy. Hidden deep in the forest is a secret garden where all the tiny teddy live and play together. Can you find them all? There's Happy, Cheeky, Silly, Grumpy, Hungry and Sleepy.

Uh huh...Cute food!

[added on 22nd June 2007 by Sandra! (happy now, irene?)]

Upon opening the uber cute pack of "Tiny Teddy Dippers", we got a huge shock! There were exactly SEVEN bears to be dipped.. To think that we paid $6 for 6 individual packs... Furthermore, the biscuits were rather "lao-honged" and the "milky white choc" tasted more like stale icing. As they say, "never judge a book by its cover"!

What a meal for a maiden entry about food, when Adam Road Food Centre isn't even a beanery; certainly not a place I call a restaurant or cafe, nor some place I label as inferior. So here it is, our Big Prawn Noodle from the famous Adam Road Big Prawn Noodle stall. (It has its counterpart in Zion Road by the way, if it is still there after these years...) We could have gotten 3.5 bowls of typical prawn noodles from normal stalls and eat our hearts' (or rather, our guts') content, but we'd have missed those humongous prawns certainly and that would be quite a bummer. (sandra: not a bummer for our pockets though. The smallest bowl of "big prawn" noodles here cost 7 bucks!) However, the chilli powder could have been more fiery to spice things up a little more.

And next is something that would be really useful in testing how functional your taste buds are. If they are working, you'd probably cringe in disgust over the extreme bitterness and thought it was the worst kind of traditional chinese medicine. The warning sign could have been bigger, either that, or the buyer could have been more alert and wished that he/she was in the know or had taken the advice of one of the poor souls who was previously victimised by it. ( sandra: told you so!) Would be good to take it over a honeycoated tongue =P Or risk losing all your prowess in sweet talking!

Mr. Bean Coffeeshop in Berlin!

And we see its counterpart in Singapore too =D Of course, they probably don't sell the same stuff.

testing

testing. testing. irene is a mrbeanery!
